I am very confused about a setting that i have found on my Evga SR 2 motherboard bios:. FR NK. Joined Apr 30, Messages 1, 0. Knoxx29 said:. Last edited: Aug 13, Kursah Super Moderator Staff member.

What I would recommend is that you test it with the feature enabled and disabled, run a CPU load test to verify which one boost the voltage under load to maintain a close variable to the set voltage you want to use may also boost idle voltage and which one does not. FR NK beat me to it! Image 3 of 6. Image 4 of 6.

This article gives a response the author's testing shows no spikes on a high end motherboard from turning on LLC. However, there is some question in the comments section on whether the spikes are less then 50 microseconds and so not measurable with his test equipment.

Intel's official line will always be the safest route as they don't want to be responsible for damaged hardware. Experience tells us that people have run OC's with LLC for many many months, years even, without noticeable damage.

If your goal is a server class machine then I wouldn't recommend any overclocking at all.
