Which region is pallet town in

Pallet Town is actually based off of the hometown of Satoshi Tajiri. His hometown, Machida, Tokyo, was a small rural town at the time and was a place where Satoshi was able to pursue his favorite childhood hobby, bug collecting. Now the town has grown to a thriving city with lots of residents.

The name Pallet Town is considered something of an etymological joke. The original name in Japanese is Masara Town which could be based on the word Masshiro meaning pure white. Pallet is based on the word palette which means a range of colors.

The other towns in the game all have similar references to names of colors both in English and Japanese. You start in your bedroom. Withdraw the Potion from your computer just in case your rival puts up a good fight.

After exploring your house, step out to explore town. But don't worry, he doesn't play favorites. You may look inside Professor Oak's Laboratory, but he's away at first.

He seems to have left town. In the moment that you set foot outside of town to search him, someone calls to you and warns you not to go. It's him, Professor Oak!

Different players have different opinions regarding the choice. The important part is that none of the options is a bad one or a worse one than the other. Charmander may be considered more appropriate for advanced players given that it will struggle with the first two Gym leaders. The laboratory in Pallet is where Professor Oak does most of his research. There is also a computer in the corner that displays an e-mail to Oak, inviting him to watch a battle at the Indigo Plateau.

The same three houses exist in the Gold and Silver version of the game. The player's house is now the residence of a non-playable character named Red. Red's rival's name is Blue. Below the town is a grassy spot, where a player can catch Tangela and Mr. The version of Pallet depicted in the anime is much more visually stunning than in the game. Although only the same three buildings — Ash Ketchum's house, Gary Oak's house, and Professor Oak's laboratory — are seen, given the general lack of buildings in the game it can be assumed that there are more residences in Pallet.

In fact, a sizable group of people arrive at the laboratory in the first episode of the anime to celebrate the beginning of Gary's journey, and it can be presumed that these people live in Pallet.
